Stand up for justice
Release Randy from prison by way of an Executive Clemency granted by the President of the U.S.
Randy Bookout’s Story
Randy is serving nearly two decades in federal prison (with no parole) after pleading guilty to a single $250 drug deal - a single $250 drug deal! Randy, a 55-year-old professional photographer, had never spent a single day in prison, until the government crushed him with a draconian prison sentence.
Randy was never caught with drugs, nor was there any physical evidence whatsoever.
Still, he was told if he didn't waive his constitutional right to an indictment by pleading guilty, the government would destroy his life by ensuring he "died in federal prison."
Randy has two elderly parents, a wife, two daughters, a son, and a new grandbaby who need him.
The high-level drug traffickers in Randy's case received massive sentence reductions because they fed the information-hungry government prosecutor and government agents vague information about other alleged drug dealers, which the government then used to secure cheap lay-down convictions.
Randy, a highly functioning addict who bought small amounts to feed his habit, had nothing substantial to give the government, so it steamrolled him. Randy received a prison sentence 10 to 14 years longer than the high-level players.
Randy is hardly a hardened criminal - this is his first time in prison. No, Randy is not serving life in prison. Nevertheless, to a man in his fifties who has never been to prison and who has a loving family, nearly 20 years is a lifetime. It's a punitive sentence that is ludicrously long as well as expressly designed to destroy.
We implore you to support Randy in his effort to secure a Presidential sentencing commutation through an Executive Clemency.
